Saucony Ride 13 review
Upper
The update of the Saucony Ride 13 shoe is the ISOFIT has gone and hopefully never to return. We are not a massive fan of the ISOFIT upper. We think it is the point where the brand started to lose its way when they put ISOFIT upper into many models.
Saucony rides 13 now comes with a more traditional upper construction using a lightweight engineered mesh for enhanced comfort and breathability. This shoe has FORMFIT construction surrounding the foot with 3d comfort.
You get 3d printed edges on the outside of the upper, offering structure that is needed. When all these things come together, the shoe fits a lot more securely around the foot. It gives a good level of padding in that upper, which makes it super comfortable.
Midsole
Saucony ride 13 shoes have a PWRRUN midsole. The PWRRUN midsole is very comfortable, responsive, and squishy. It is not too soft or hard, but just right for the shoe. You may feel floating with this midsole and cushioning. It feels good running on it. It is reliable for running on flat roads and steep hills.
Outsole
Saucony ride 13 shoe’s outsole has rubber as compared to Kinvara. There is full coverage of blown outsole rubber for durability. The rubber is very dense. Rubber with PWRRNUN midsole makes this shoe the perfect choice for the daily trainer because of its durability.
This rubber on the bottom of the shoe is a diamond cut shape. It has flex grooves that work well. When we look at the toe, we got high abrasion rubber in the back that adds to the durability. There is soft rubber that felt great through the stride. It also has a good grip. Overall, this shoe is very well throughout from top to bottom.
Laces
Let debate laces in the review of Saucony ride 13, we love the color suits with the shoe, but they are too stretchy. We do not have any idea why they use this type of fabric or material for laces.
It is hard to tight up the shoe and even harder to get out of it. It is the type of fabric that catches and snags on everything. It just looks a bit untidy and a little bit messy.
Breathability
A lot of people think that the Saucony ride 13 is warm. Because it is plusher compared to the Triumph. We can not compare these shoes, because there are plush on both sides that will give a little bit of warmth.
But most of the heat goes out of the sockets. So, in the forefoot and midfoot there is a lot of breathable. It means that this one is not warmer than the 1080 or the 880 or any other shoe. Overall, this shoe is responsive and stable.
Durability
Saucony ride 13 is a very stable and durable shoe in many conditions. It is not the most breathable shoe; we have seen, but there is a fair amount of breathability. We think this shoe is what a daily trainer needs.
You could have it for hundreds of miles, and we think you can get many miles out of this upper. Another thing we liked about the Saucony ride 13 upper was the lockdown, the gusseted tongue mixed with the laces give you an excellent fit.
Saucony Ride 13 Review: Pros and Cons
Conclusion
Saucony Ride 13 running shoe is just a brilliant all-around shoe. If you wanted one pair of shoes to go running for comfortable running out of the house, it is comfortable for that. If you are doing tempo runs, good and responsive enough.
You will agree that you are getting an amazing shield or the best shoe out there. This shoe offers enough in terms of performance, fit, and comfort. That collectively makes this a solid shoe to consider and worth spending money on.
